Prejudices

I think that it is strange that there are so many kinds of prejudices. there are the people who oppress the blacks in Africa, or the men who oppress women in Afghanistan. It's amazing that you can hate so many people. I do not even know why the Jewish race was punished in the holocaust. Seriously, what did they do wrong? I have no idea, but Hitler must have. You really wonder how many prejudices there are in the world....

1,000 Splendid Suns*

Racism. It seems to be a reoccurring theme in the last three books. It makes you wonder if there was always racism, or if it is more of a recent creation. I know in the bible it talks about the tower of babel, and that's where we got the different languages and frustration, but who knows. That seems to be a good start to all this nonsense. Racism seems to be harbored by the extreme intellectuals, or the.... not as smart people. I think this is because they are stronger in there convictions. Well, i should save some of this steller insight for my paper. :)

Ok, so i know that everyone is blogging about how mean Rasheed is, but how can't you. The pebbles thing really set me over the edge. Ok, its on thing to not like the cooking, but please use some constructive criticism. That was beyond what is even called abuse. That is just sick. He must get a sick thrill from doing it. That man is seriously unwell. He should not be allowed to ruin her life just like that. It's so sad she has no way out...

I can not believe how made he is for her losing the baby. It's like it was her fault. How can you fault someone for something they did not do. I know i made stereotypes, but i really think that i am a pretty fair judge of things. Her husband is not. It really could have been his fault too. I mean those things are hard to tell, but it is not the wife's fault. She was a dutiful wife. She took to his every need. She was the best wife she could be to him. i know what it is like to give everything of yourself and have it shoved back in your face, and not just shoved back, but thrown back. How can you fault someone who is doing there best? She was just as excited for this baby as he was. She was going to be a first time mother. That really must be a hard hit, and your husband blames it on you.... There is really nothing that can be said about that.

So, this whole age difference would be enough for me to want to run away and crawl in a hole. Seriously, there is like a 30 year difference. That is completely crazy. How can you expect them to have anything in common. Its like me marring some one who grew up with the Beatles. Yea... so do you wanna go to the disco and listen to the Beatles hunny? Uh on i think ill go to the club and listen to Lady Gaga. I know that is not a very accurate comparison, but that's all i got. really though. How can you have anything in common at all. daily life would be terrible uncomfortable.

You realllly get the for shadowing in the start of this book. The ominous first 15 years of her life spent in this hut really stands out. When i was just at that part of the book, i really wanted to know what they meant by that. That's why I deemed it necessary to read another like 100 pages. Thanks Mrs. Rosin now I really do not have a life. Speaking of having a life, I think i am going to go read my book. :)

Kite Runner

The symbolism of red in the book is huge. You really see the theme of it everywhere. I am not quite sure what it is fr though. It it red for blood and suffering? Or is it red for danger? Or is it red for heart. I really like the theme of the red in the book.
